Centre Manager Job Description

At Bupa, we're committed to making health happen for our customers. As a Centre Manager, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and driving business performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage commercial and business needs of the Health Centre, overseeing client contracts and business relationships.
  • Drive operational efficiency through effective resource utilisation and scheduling.
  • Use insights from the Net Promoter System to improve customer experience.
  • Maximise business growth by owning the local marketing plan and converting leads into new business.
  • Be the operational lead with key corporate companies and support Area Manager with new business and service lines developments.
  • Analyse failure demand, customer satisfaction results, complaints, and immediate feedback to understand root causes and implement remedial actions.
  • Maintain and develop a robust control environment to ensure regulatory compliance and manage risks in accordance with Bupa's Three Lines of Defence Model.
Financial Responsibilities:
  • Be accountable for identifying and delivering cost improvements and increasing revenue.
  • Continuously measure performance to understand variation and take proactive action on cost underperformance.
  • Measure and focus on all revenue streams across services lines and understand profitability, responding to changes in the external environment.
People Management:
  • Directly manage and influence Centre management structures, ensuring roles are staffed appropriately and in line with Bupa values.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to bring new skills into the team and cross-train to achieve one-stop resolution.
  • Provide clear direction to direct reports and a consistent methodology to deliver results.
  • Use insights from the employee NPS survey to drive improvements and engagement within the Centre.
  • Develop a performance management culture, embedding initiatives and KPIs to drive growth and operational efficiency.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Be responsible for all legal and statutory obligations, including health and safety, Care Quality Commission Essential Standards, data protection, employment legislation, infection prevention, and safeguarding.
  • Ensure compliance by all centre staff with all policies, procedures, and protocols issued by Bupa Health Clinics.
  • Work closely with clinical teams to ensure compliance with clinical governance requirements.
  • Manage risks in accordance with Bupa's Three Lines of Defence Model and the Health Clinics Risk Management Policy.
Treating Customers Fairly:

You should be able to demonstrate that you pay due regard to customers and treat them fairly by making fair treatment central to all organisational changes, procedural changes, and policy decisions.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with employees, colleagues, customers, and corporate clients.
  • Strong experience of leading teams and people management, including evidence of engaging and motivating people.
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment and the health and care industry.
  • Good track record of driving business performance and delivering business results.
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
  • IT proficiency, including Microsoft office systems.
