Job Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Building Services Senior Electrical Engineer to join a leading International multi-disciplinary design consultancy in Central London. The company is one of the UK's Top Employers for 5 years in a row according to Top Employer Institute. Their multi-disciplined team includes MEP, Environmental Design & Sustainability, VT, and Architectural Design Lighting. They are involved in high-profile and prestigious projects all over the world across a variety of sectors, which may require some travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the company in a professional and diligent manner at all times.
- Provide discipline leadership and establish strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, design teams, authorities, utilities, and associated organisations.
- Attend all meetings with clients, project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Undertake and deliver high-quality detailed engineering design for electrical building services and power distribution systems, including calculations, analysis, schematics, drawings, diagrams, models, specifications, and other required documents.
- Review and manage projects from inception to post-construction duties.
- Maintain good knowledge of relevant legislations, standards, regulations, guides, and good practices.
- Comply with procedures and standards.
- Contribute and assist as required by the Project Leader, Senior Partner, or nominated Engineer.
- Support equity, diversity, and inclusion as a core priority.
Requirements:
- Able to demonstrate the ability to undertake the above responsibilities.
- Legally able to work in the country where the position is based.
- Qualified as a Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status.
- Solid technical understanding of own core engineering discipline and the role of the electrical engineer within the design team.
- Broad understanding of other engineering disciplines engaged in the design of the built environment.
- Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and industry-standard design reference material.
- Ability to use Autodesk Revit, Amtech/Trimble, Dialux, and Microsoft 'Office' suite.
- Ability to use initiative in response to project demands.
- Able to negotiate and communicate well in graphical, written, or verbal forms, including the ability to listen and understand others.
- Ability to understand and formulate design decisions.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Developed problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information.
- Self-motivated and able to take responsibility.
- Able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to work independently and as part of an effective team.
- Flexible attitude.
- Able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
