Job Title: Activity Officer

We are seeking an Activity Officer to join our team at the Central Coast Activity Centres. As an Activity Officer, you will be responsible for promoting emotional and physical rehabilitation to our clients through recreational activities that promote holistic wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver a range of social and recreational activities for both individuals and groups.
  • Encourage the socialisation process for customers via a wide range of organised group activities, entertainment according to customers' interests and skills.
  • Promote the retention of existing life skills for people and provide opportunities to enhance these skills through participation in various tasks.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and person-centred care at all times.
  • Actively maintain progress notes and communicate with supervisor when changes are identified.
  • Provide assistance to customers in activities of daily living as detailed in the customer care plan.
  • Medication assist may be part of the roles' duties.

Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to all day centre sites including reliable and comprehensive insured motor vehicle.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or relevant qualifications of the same level or higher.
  • Current First Aid + CPR.
  • Ability to create a supportive and empowering environment for customers and carers.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to liaise with a wide range of customers.
  • Confident in using different forms of technology such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of older people and proven customer service orientation.
  • Experience working with people with dementia is essential.
  • Current driver's license (P1 or above).
