Job Role Overview

The Avionics Tooling Technician is a critical position within the Tooling Maintenance Group, responsible for performing routine tooling and equipment servicing, maintenance and rectification tasks within an asset management framework.

Vital Skills and Qualifications:
  • A trade certificate in Avionics or Electrical trade, or equivalent qualification
  • Relevant Aircraft Tooling or plant and equipment maintenance experience
  • In-depth knowledge of tooling or plant and equipment maintenance procedures
  • A current electrical contractors or supervisors license
  • A valid driver's license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach
Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently service, inspect, modify and repair aircraft tooling in a safe and timely manner
  • Cordinate service and repairs to aircraft tooling and equipment ensuring minimal impact on operations
  • Recommend improvements to efficiency and pending maintenance issues
  • Evaluate all work against company and industry standards
  • Demonstrate leadership and organizational skills to meet performance requirements
  • Record workflows to relevant asset management systems
  • Comply with Qantas' S.A.F.E safety management system
