Requirements Engineer Role Overview

This position focuses on leading engineering management within the Defence sector.

You will be responsible for developing and analysing requirement sets, ensuring traceability to system design and verification outcomes. Your work may involve providing systems engineering support, applying technical expertise in integration engineering, V&V planning, test and evaluation, and certification processes.

You will also deliver high-quality engineering services, covering regulatory compliance, resource planning, project reporting, and reviews of contract deliverables.

In this role, you will utilize specialist tools and standards, including DOORS and VCRM, to manage requirements and verification processes in alignment with Defence and international engineering standards.

Additionally, you will produce technical documentation and analysis, such as hazard reports, engineering plans, certification materials, and design assessments to support Defence project outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with defence industry experience in the following areas:

  • Strong experience in Engineering Management within Defence, government, or professional services.
  • Experience with RF environments and wireless communications in contested communications or electronic warfare domains.
  • Experience in digital communications protocols and signal conversion techniques.
  • Experience driving processes and process improvements, including continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with US Export Controls including Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA) and Third Party Retransfer authorisations.
