Program Manager Position

We are seeking a skilled Program Manager to lead our Digital Solutions Division's Project Management Office (PMO).

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a large program of work, leading the current PMO team and small team of consultants, and establishing core PMO functions.

  • Providing governance oversight of a large IT program of work
  • Leading the current PMO team and a small team of consultants
  • Forming a fully functional and high performing PMO in the department's Digital Solutions Division
  • Establishing core PMO functions, maturing existing PMO functions and developing staff capability

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing large ICT projects, programs or Project Management Offices, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to think innovatively.

About the Role

This is a high-profile Federal Government Department position that offers a rewarding hourly rate and an initial 12-month contract with a potential 12-month extension option.

The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Providing governance oversight of a large IT program of work
  • Leading the current PMO team and a small team of consultants
  • Forming a fully functional and high performing PMO in the department's Digital Solutions Division
  • Establishing core PMO functions, maturing existing PMO functions and developing staff capability

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:

  • Previous experience managing large ICT projects, programs or Project Management Offices
  • An ability to think of innovative and out-of-the-box solutions using pragmatic approaches
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment
