Job Title: Experienced Veterinary Surgical Nurse

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Part-time Surgery Nurse to join our team at Greencross Vets Essendon Fields. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our experienced veterinary surgeons to provide high-quality pre-operative and post-operative care to our patients
  • Assist in monitoring patients during surgery and recovery, ensuring their safety and comfort
  • Administer medications and follow established protocols to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Provide education and support to pet owners and their families throughout the treatment process
  • Maintain a strong understanding of surgical procedures and protocols, as well as proficiency in anaesthesia monitoring and sterile technique

Requirements:

  • Cert IV qualified Nurse with a minimum of 2 years experience in veterinary surgical nursing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with pet owners and veterinary staff
  • Familiarity with veterinary medical equipment and surgical instruments, including their maintenance and sterilisation
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and excellent customer service
