SQL Database Administrator Specialist

Job Overview:

A seasoned database professional is sought after to administer, manage and optimize SQL Server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in database administration with experience in ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to meet business objectives
  • Test backups regularly to ensure data integrity and recoverability
  • Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages promptly and efficiently
  • Configure monitoring tools to minimize false alarms and ensure proactive issue detection
  • Install, migrate and configure new SQL Servers as per business requirements
  • Deploy database change scripts provided by vendors while maintaining data consistency
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks through hardware upgrades, server configuration adjustments or index/query modifications
  • Document the database environment thoroughly for future reference
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in database administration with a focus on SQL Server
  • Strong understanding of backup and recovery concepts, including RPO and RTO
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to configure and manage monitoring utilities
  • Knowledge of database change management principles
  • Experience with performance optimization techniques
