Job Title: Wall and Floor Tiler

We are seeking a qualified Wall and Floor Tiler to join our team at Godara Tiling Pty Ltd. As a dedicated and skilled tradesperson, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional tiling services to our clients in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Mark surfaces, materials, or areas based on the measurements and specifications provided in the plans.
  • Choose the appropriate tile-cutting tools, including tile cutters, wet saws, nippers, and angle grinders, based on the type of tiles being used and the specific cuts required.
  • Plan the layout of the mosaic pattern, taking into consideration the overall design, colour distribution, and the size of the installation area.
  • Choose the appropriate type of adhesive based on the tile material, substrate, and environmental conditions.
  • Mix granolithic, terrazzo, or cementitious materials according to manufacturer specifications or project requirements.
  • Immediately after grouting, use the edge of the float or a grout sponge to remove excess grout from the tile surfaces.
  • Clean the tiled surface thoroughly to remove any dust, debris, or adhesive residues before starting the grouting process. Apply grout diagonally across the tiles to minimize air pockets and ensure thorough filling of joints.
  • Use reference lines as guides to ensure uniformity and proper alignment to maintain consistent gaps between tiles.
  • Safely and efficiently remove existing tiles, grout, and adhesive from walls and floors using appropriate tools such as tile scrapers, chisels, or power tools. Ensure that prep areas are smooth to provide a solid base for the new tile installation.
  • Ensure that the adhesive is compatible with both the tiles and the prepared surfaces. Press the tile firmly into the adhesive to achieve proper contact.
  • Review construction or project plans thoroughly to understand the scope, design, and specifications.
  • Choose the appropriate waterproofing system based on the specific requirements of the project, such as the type of substrate, environmental conditions, and intended use of the waterproofed area.

  • Certificate IV level qualification is required.
  • The candidate must have relevant experience.
  • Friendly, positive & approachable attitude.
  • To be energetic and motivated.


Remuneration:

$70,000 - $80,000 per annum plus superannuation.
