Senior Renewable Energy Grid Connections Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to manage grid connections for our renewable energy projects in Australia. This role will be responsible for ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of grid connections, from development through to construction.
Key Responsibilities- To assist in project development by identifying factors influencing and influenced by grid connections.
- To manage and submit grid applications to DNSPs and TNSPs, ensuring timely submission and progression through NSP and AEMO processes.
- To negotiate with NSPs and AEMO during the review process of grid connection applications.
- To manage review processes for grid connection offers, ensuring they meet our requirements and represent the minimum scheme required.
- To create and maintain framework agreements with ICPs and equipment suppliers, ensuring we have the required delivery capacity at the appropriate commercial terms.
- To play a strategic role in developing standardised arrangements for grid connections that reduce installation time and cost while maintaining or improving plant performance.
- To provide technical assistance to project managers throughout the life of the project.
- To introduce and maintain departmental procedures to support grid connection application, grid capacity checks, and grid connection assessment, as well as ICP auditing.
- To formalise a standardised response sheet to common risk items identified by Investor and Technical Advisor alike.
- To represent the Grid Department at relevant development meetings, delivery meetings, third-party stakeholder events, and site visits.
We are looking for an individual with strong technical knowledge of the Australian grid at both DNSP and TNSP levels, as well as experience dealing with AEMO. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role, with a minimum of 5 years' experience. A degree in Electrical and/or Power Engineering is preferred, but other relative qualifications and supporting working experience will be considered.
