Child Protection Specialist Role

We are seeking an experienced Child Protection Specialist to join our team. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a high level of sensitivity and respect when working with vulnerable children, young people and their families.

  • Work collaboratively with other agencies and engage in complex problem-solving to address safety and well-being concerns.
  • Formulate goals with clients and develop strategies to provide assistance through home visits.
  • Develop and implement safety plans and conduct thorough risk assessments.
  • Manage cases involving high-needs and high-risk clients and their families.
  • Participate in court processes, including the preparation of documents and attending court sessions.
Essential Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A relevant diploma or degree qualification in a field related to child protection or social work.
  • At least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people and their families, preferably in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • A valid driver's license and current paid Working with Children Clearance.
  • Documented verification of Aboriginality confirming your identity as an Aboriginal person of Aboriginal descent.
