Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an Orthopaedic Surgical Fellow to join the Tasmanian Government's Department of Health. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality surgical services to patients in the Northern Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the coordination and training of Surgical Registrars and Resident Medical Officers (RMOs)
  • Participate in the development and implementation of targeted activities to improve the delivery of general surgical services
  • Contribute to the education and training of AOA set trainees, unaccredited orthopaedic registrars, and medical students
  • Attend and participate in quarterly audits, journal clubs, and research projects
  • Participate in the on-call registrar roster
Requirements
  • General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Recently gained Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or completion of training for FRACS and waiting to be awarded Fellowship
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary range of $182,000 to $200,000 per annum, pro rata
