Job Opportunity

This is an exciting chance to contribute to improving understanding and usability of climate projections and climate extremes.

You will work collaboratively with leading climate science experts from various institutions, including the Bureau of Meteorology and CSIRO.

The ideal candidate has excellent knowledge of climate change science and variability, with experience using climate models and large datasets.

We are seeking someone who can demonstrate strong quantitative skills and provide valuable insights into Australia's climate science challenges and adaptation needs.

In this role, you will be part of a coordinated climate change and adaptation research program across all four NESP Hubs through the Climate Adaptation Initiative.

  • Collaborate with a talented team of researchers and scientists
  • Contribute to high-impact research projects addressing climate change and adaptation

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement innovative research methodologies to advance climate projection and extreme weather event understanding
  2. Collaborate with colleagues to identify research priorities and develop project proposals
  3. Design and execute experiments to test hypotheses related to climate change impacts on Australian ecosystems
  4. Interpret and communicate complex research findings to stakeholders
