CNC Milling Machinist Role

Our organization is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Machinist to join a dynamic precision engineering team in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. This permanent full-time opportunity is designed for skilled professionals who want long-term stability and advanced technology exposure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-precision components that support industries such as aerospace, medical devices, and automotive engineering.

This role requires proven skills across 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling operations. As a CNC Milling Machinist, you will program, set, and operate multi-axis CNC milling machines, read and interpret CAD / CAM files, specifications, and technical drawings, run high-precision machining operations to tight tolerances, conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting equipment, manage workflow to meet production deadlines while maintaining high quality, work closely with engineers and quality control teams to uphold compliance, and maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming, setting, and operating multi-axis CNC milling machines
  • Reading and interpreting CAD / CAM files, specifications, and technical drawings
  • Running high-precision machining operations to tight tolerances
  • Conducting routine maintenance and troubleshooting equipment
  • Managing workflow to meet production deadlines while maintaining high quality
  • Working closely with engineers and quality control teams to uphold compliance
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient workshop environment
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will bring:

  • Strong experience in CNC milling and high-precision machining
  • The ability to program and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis machines
  • Advanced technical drawing and CAD / CAM interpretation skills
  • An understanding of machining tolerances, materials, and cutting strategies
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
