Your key responsibilities will include:

* Collaborating with the Design Manager to review the developing design and provide cost planning advice to ensure it stays within budget allowances.
* Maintaining a thorough knowledge of the developing design and influencing cost-effective outcomes by attending design meetings and providing appropriate cost advice.
* Providing design consultants with budget-informed direction to facilitate the design development process within budget parameters.
* Exploring, pricing, and proposing innovative and cost-effective value engineering and design options to the project team.
* Identifying, pricing, and submitting head contract variations to the client, and negotiating financial outcomes with the client's representatives.
* Providing periodic cost planning reports against project budgets.
* Undertaking regular quantity verification analysis to ensure current scope does not exceed contractual scope and associated budget allowances.
* Developing the project Budget-to-Build to a suitable format for the project, ensuring it is mapped to the original tender budget.
* Assisting the project Commercial Manager with budget reconciliations in preparation for subcontract trade package procurement.
* Taking corrective action to resolve identified budget problems associated with cost planning and procurement activities.
* Identifying, registering, and monitoring project cost planning risks and opportunities related to design development, market resource availability, procurement, design option considerations, and the like, and reporting these to Management.", "About You": "We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Estimator/Cost Planner with a strong background in infrastructure cost planning. The ideal candidate will have:

* Minimum 10 years industry experience in similar positions.
* Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Quantity Surveying preferable.
* Advanced experience in Estimating/Cost Planning, Risk Identification, and Value Engineering, with knowledge and experience of large, complex civil infrastructure projects.
* Demonstrated strong estimating background in large-scale construction projects.
* Demonstrated ability to review the detail of a developing design in accordance with budget requirements, and influence design outcomes accordingly.
* Sound technical construction knowledge.
