Our company maintains a fleet of modern, maintained farming machinery and implements and has aerated grain storage and stacks on farm.

The Role:

We are seeking a driven leader with previous experience in a comparable leadership role or an individual looking to take a step up in their career of choice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for efficiently coordinating and executing a crop production plan, managing the entire cropping cycle for both dryland and irrigated crops, and having hands-on involvement in operating farming machinery, plant, and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute a crop production plan to ensure optimal yields and efficiency.
  • Manage the entire cropping cycle for both dryland and irrigated crops, including planning, planting, and harvesting.
  • Operate and maintain farming machinery, plant, and equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Provide mechanical support and maintenance services as needed.
  • Supervise and manage a team of four permanent staff members, with additional casual staff during peak production periods.
  • Ensure compliance with best practices regarding workplace health and safety on farm.

Requirements & Favourable Attributes:

  • Experience in extensive broadacre cropping and irrigated cotton cultivation is required.
  • Experience in machinery operation and maintenance support is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to delegate duties according to work requirements.
  • A flexible approach to work and reliability during peak production periods on farm.
  • A positive outlook, willing attitude, and the ability to commit to the position for the long term.
  • Ideally, a truck licence will be viewed as favourable to move trucks between properties when required; however, a current driver's licence at a minimum is essential.

  • The remuneration package is attractive and will be based on prior experience brought to the role. Applicants could expect this to be circa $120,000 - $150,000 / year depending on skills and experience. In addition to the salary and accommodation, a Toyota work ute will be supplied.
