Senior Anaesthetist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Anaesthetist to join our team.

About the Role

  • This is a challenging opportunity for an anaesthetist to lead, teach and practice in a busy hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing specialist medical services to patients within the specialty.
  • Leading and participating in perioperative patient optimisation and post-operative follow up care.
  • Accepting referrals both internal and external to the hospital, in accordance with the hospital's role delineation.
  • Participating in the preadmission clinic and its structure, resources and education of medical and nursing staff involved.
  • Conducting daily consultant supervised acute pain rounds as per the departmental roster.
  • Proportionately participating in a departmental after hours on call roster including weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
  • Being available to assist in airway or resuscitation crises when called upon throughout the hospital.
  • Providing consultant proximal after hours cover as required on the departmental roster.

Requirements:

  • Fellowship with the Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.
  • Substantial clinical experience in the management of high acuity patients in a complex hospital environment, including Paediatric and Obstetric Anaesthesia.
  • A fellowship with the Faculty of Pain Medicine will be highly regarded.
