Workshop Fitter Role Overview

This is an opportunity for a skilled workshop fitter to join our team in Mackay QLD.

The successful candidate will be mechanically minded with good attention to detail, self-motivated and adaptable. This role offers a full-time permanent position with career stability and a good work/life balance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Reconditioning driveshafts for automotive, commercial, off highway and industrial applications.
  2. Machining driveline components.
  3. Assembling, welding, and balancing of driveshafts.
  4. Carrying out general workshop duties as required.
Requirements:
  1. Well-developed fitting and machining skills obtained in a workshop environment.
  2. Sound mechanical aptitude and knowledge.
  3. Experience operating manual lathes and welding equipment is essential.
  4. Ability to demonstrate flexibility with job tasks.
  5. Will to participate in ongoing training and be open to new ideas.
  6. Proven safety and quality focus to perform assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with Company's Health & Safety policies & procedures.
  7. Willingness to work as part of a team, and do whatever is required, to help achieve business targets.
  8. Certificate 2 in Engineering is desirable - basic machining skills.
