About Us

We are currently working with a well-known commercial builder in Brisbane. Our client is highly regarded for their proficiency in residential projects, including multi-residential, aged care, and social housing sectors. They are looking for a Senior Estimator who has a background and training in Quantity Surveying and is seeking a new challenge in the field of commercial construction.

Responsibilities

You will play a critical role in the success of construction projects by providing accurate cost estimations, managing budgets effectively, and contributing to the overall efficiency and profitability of the construction process. Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Leading the estimation process, utilising advanced quantity surveying techniques for accurate project cost assessments.
  • Collaborating closely with design and construction teams to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Conducting detailed quantity take-offs and cost analyses for various construction projects.
  • Utilising specialised knowledge in quantity surveying to provide insights into cost-effective solutions.
  • Preparing comprehensive and competitive project bids and proposals.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, construction costs, and market conditions.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior estimators, fostering professional development within the team.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of work experience as a Senior Estimator with a background and training in quantity surveying on commercial/residential building projects
  • In-depth knowledge of quantity surveying techniques and methodologies.
  • Proficient in cost estimation software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Relevant qualifications in quantity surveying or a related field.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic team environment.
