Assembler Engineer Position

We are looking for a highly skilled Assembler Engineer to fill a role in our Melbourne-based team.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, coding, testing, and debugging mainframe applications using Assembler language. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams are also essential.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, code, test, and debug mainframe applications using Assembler language.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
  • Enhance and maintain existing applications for performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Implement Connex on IBM Mainframe and Switch configurations for secure and efficient communication.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Assembler applications, Connex, and Switch.
  • Conduct code reviews, performance analysis, and optimization.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Mainframe Assembler Engineer with strong Assembler programming skills.
  • Hands-on expertise with Connex and Switch technologies (configuration, integration, troubleshooting).
  • Familiarity with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and mainframe tools is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Certifications in Mainframe technologies or Connex on IBM Mainframe/Switch are advantageous.
  • 8+ years of IT experience, including 3+ years in Connex on IBM and payments domain.
