A great opportunity exists for a Lead Structural Engineer to join a national company specialising in the design and manufacture of wall, ceiling, and roofing products. Located in the Brisbane head office, this role is focused on product development, testing, research, and engineering design.

About the Role:

This role offers a balance of technical design and product development in a hands-on environment. As part of the technical team, you will oversee in-house and external testing to ensure products comply with Australian Standards across structural, fire, acoustic, thermal, and weatherproofing areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed structural engineering calculations to ensure compliance with standards
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation such as specifications, drawings, and test reports
  • Drive new product development from concept to production, actively participating in research, testing, and design
  • Oversee in-house and external testing, ensuring products meet Australian Standards for structural integrity, fire resistance, acoustics, thermal efficiency, and weatherproofing
  • Create engaging technical and marketing materials to support diverse stakeholders and promote innovative products
  • Manage prototype development and conduct thorough testing to validate designs
Skills and Experience Needed:
  • Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • Hands-on experience in design calculations and proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Prior experience working in a Manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of Australian standards and construction codes
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a proven ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines
  • Excellent time management and collaboration skills

The estimated salary for this role is around $90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
