Technical Officer Anatomical Pathology Specialist

Central Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a skilled Technical Officer to join our team in Anatomical Pathology. This exciting opportunity offers a challenging and rewarding role for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional healthcare services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and processing of histological specimens, embedding, sectioning, Fluorescence in situ Hybridisation on paraffin embedded tissue, special staining of tissue and carrying out routine maintenance of equipment. Working on a rotational basis throughout the Main Laboratory, Cut-Up Laboratory and the Immunocytochemistry Laboratory, you will be an integral part of our team dedicated to providing high-quality patient care.

We are looking for an individual with relevant technical expertise and experience in pathology laboratory settings. A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant technical discipline is required for appointment at the TGO-1 level. For appointment at the TGO-0 level, educational standards required for entry to an appropriate technical study course will be considered.
As a Technical Officer, you will work closely with our experienced team to ensure efficient and effective operation of the laboratory. You will be required to possess one of the following qualifications: A degree at Australian Qualifications Framework level 7 awarded from a university in Australia with >70% of subjects relevant to the field of pathology of a 3-year degree, or a degree at Australian Qualifications Framework level 7 with subjects relevant to the field of pathology awarded by an overseas tertiary institution if the qualification is assessed as equivalent to a degree accredited by the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists.
