We are seeking an Energy Systems Specialist to join our team, based in Melbourne, to deliver critical functions related to managing and operating our GE e-Terra SCADA platforms, technologies, and associated applications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing support, maintenance, development, and continual improvement of AusNet's GE e-Terra Advanced Energy Management Systems (AEMS) platforms, technologies, and related applications servicing electricity transmission & distribution and gas distribution.
  • Maintenance of system protocols and procedures, including incident and problem management, prioritisation, triage, and resolution of problems and incidents impacting the AEMS platform and associated technologies and applications.
  • Analysing service and component availability, reliability, maintainability, and serviceability, monitoring performance, and anticipating issues and problems.
  • Patch management, including configuration and implementation of patches in accordance with protocols and procedures.
  • Assisting with designing, managing, testing, and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery protocols and processes.
  • Management of planned and unplanned changes in accordance with established change control procedures, including new or changed network elements (new database points).
  • Actively seeking opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities, and products to improve performance of the AEMS.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Detailed knowledge of SCADA and AEMS systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of GE e-Terra AEMS System.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the discipline obtained through experience, networking, research, and other means of professional development.
  • Understanding of primary plant, network protection, and control devices, with experience in functional design, testing, and commissioning of special protection schemes and remedial action schemes, desirable.
  • Knowledge of substation and transmission system components, performance, and operation, desirable.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on SCADA, Power System Engineering, highly desirable.
  • Eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia.
