We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant to provide essential oral health services in school settings. This role involves collaborating with licensed dentists and dental hygienists to deliver preventive and basic dental care to children, promoting overall oral health awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

- Travel to different schools to set up mobile dental clinics and assist in delivering dental services.
- Prepare and organise necessary dental equipment and supplies for each school visit.
- Assist in patient intake, maintaining accurate and confidential dental records for each student.
- Educate students on proper oral hygiene practices and provide guidance for maintaining a healthy smile.
- Support dental professionals during examinations and treatments, ensuring a comfortable and reassuring environment for young patients.
- Sterilise and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care as needed.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in dental health and hygiene practices.
- Uphold ethical standards, patient confidentiality, and professionalism in all interactions.

Key Requirements:

- Certificate III in Dental Assisting or 2 years of experience.
- Availability to work Monday - Friday (8 hours, additional hours if meeting at headquarters in the morning/afternoon).
- Current Working with Children check
- Current Professional Indemnity insurance.
- Valid full drivers licence (to drive dental clinic).

About you:

- Experience working with paediatric dental patients is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with children.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and safety protocols.
- Willingness to travel to various school locations as needed.
- Commitment to promoting oral health awareness and preventive care in schools.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract

**Salary**: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Performance bonus

- Bachelor Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Dental assistance: 2 years (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- Preston, VIC 3072 (required)

Ability to Relocate:
