After Hours Hospital Coordinator Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced healthcare professional to join our team as an After Hours Hospital Coordinator.

This role provides leadership, operational management, and resource allocation for nursing and ancillary staff outside of normal business hours. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to patients and families during this critical period.

About the Job

  • Act as the primary point of contact for hospital executives after hours.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to ensure smooth operation of clinical areas during off-peak hours.
  • Collaborate with senior clinicians and managers to develop and implement effective staffing plans and resource allocation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate and facilitate hospital activities to optimize clinical outcomes and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management: Provide leadership and guidance to nursing and ancillary staff during after-hours operations.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with hospital executives, clinicians, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and decision-making.
  • Operational Management: Manage resources, including staff, equipment, and facilities, to ensure optimal use and minimize waste.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure that patient care and services meet high standards of quality and safety.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is a mandatory requirement.
