We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary Teacher to join Tradewind Australia, a specialist education recruitment agency in Melbourne. This is an ongoing role starting in January (Term 1) with sponsorship available for candidates requiring a visa.

The ideal candidate will deliver tailored educational programs to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning experience for each child. Key responsibilities include developing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and collaborating with support staff, parents, and specialists to create a nurturing educational environment.

While experience in special education is not essential, a commitment to fostering student growth and independence is vital. The salary for this role is approximately $65,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Key Duties:
  • Building Supportive Relationships: Establish strong relationships with students, providing emotional and social support to foster their confidence and independence.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with teaching assistants and specialists to support student needs and communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment, implementing behaviour management strategies to support positive student behaviour.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional learning to improve teaching practices, attending relevant training sessions and workshops to stay informed about best practices in special education.
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Create and adapt individualized lesson plans to meet diverse student needs, using varied teaching methods to cater to different learning styles.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate previous experience as a Teacher - Graduates are welcome to apply too
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years
