Job Description:

Auxiliary Firefighter Role

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services department is responsible for ensuring public safety across the state through prevention, preparation, response, and recovery activities in emergency situations. The Auxiliary Firefighter role plays a crucial part in this mission.

Purpose of the Role:

This position requires individuals who can respond to emergency incidents, contribute to community education, and participate in regular drills and training courses. Successful candidates will demonstrate a proactive approach, flexibility in responding to change, and a focus on customers and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to fire and other emergency incidents as a member of a team.
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities.
  • Develop and maintain competencies by actively participating in regular drills and training courses.
  • Maintain the required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training.
  • Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Successful applicants must possess an Australian Permanent Resident Status, a Manual C Class driver's license, and be willing to commit to personal development. They should also display professional and ethical behavior, act with integrity, and demonstrate loyalty and trust.
