Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Yard Hand to join our team at Access Hire Darwin. This is a full-time permanent role working Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth and efficient coordination of all yard activities ensuring the yard is maintained in a safe and organised manner.

This role involves physically demanding tasks, including operating heavy machinery, loading and unloading equipment, and maintaining a clean environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Forklift Operations: Safely operate forklifts to move or reposition equipment.
  • Yard Maintenance: Maintain a safe and organised yard, ensuring a clean environment.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate/driver equipment to move or reposition it.
  • Loading/Unloading: Load and unload machines from trailers.
  • Classification: Classify machinery on return and check for damage.
  • HSE Compliance: Ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
  • General Yard Duties: Perform general yard duties as required.
Requirements
  • Forklift Licence: Possess a valid forklift licence and demonstrated FL experience.
  • Similar Role Experience: Have previous experience in a similar role.
  • Driving Machinery: Previous experience driving machinery is an advantage but not essential.
  • Communication Skills: Possess well-developed communication skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Quality Commitment: Demonstrated commitment to quality; ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and be self-motivated.
  • Positive Attitude: Friendly and positive 'can do' attitude.
