  • The Role
  • An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Food Technologist to lead the development and innovation of new products across multiple categories, collaborating with the Product Development team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Overseeing the entire product development lifecycle, including raw material sourcing, hands-on development, trials, and product launches.
  • Serving as an expert on product and process to address product troubleshooting and stakeholder enquiries.
  • Managing the design and execution of testing for new products.
  • Leading and training new team members and providing ongoing support.
  • Coordinating and communicating effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and key stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and delivery.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities for product improvement, cost reduction, and operational improvements.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • An experienced Food Technologist with 6+ years' experience in R&D/NPD roles and at least 2 years in a Senior Product Development role within Food Manufacturing or FMCG Manufacturing environments.
  • A Bachelor of Science, majoring in Food Science/Food Technology, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience in product categories such as sauces, mayonnaise, condiments, dry powders and liquid blending is desirable.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing product development projects, demonstrating a successful track record of product launches and driving innovation within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong project management skills, including leadership of cross-functional teams and the ability to deliver complex projects on time and within scope.
  • In-depth knowledge of FSANZ, HACCP, GMP, and SQF programs and regulations, with a demonstrated ability to ensure compliance.
  • Solid leadership capability with a focus on leading by example, mentoring and providing clear direction for junior staff.
