Electrical Design Expert Sought

We are searching for a highly skilled professional to take on a leadership role in preparing high-quality electrical and control system deliverables.

This key position will play a pivotal part in ensuring excellence in AutoCAD and design tool administration, supporting CAD operators and drafters in delivering consistent quality work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret conceptual designs and transform them into detailed technical deliverables.
  • Develop and update electrical and control system deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams, Schematics, P&ID's, Cable Block Diagrams, Termination Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Hookup Diagrams, Equipment BOM's and Panel Arrangements.
  • Conduct site inspections to gather data and verify existing drawings.
  • Manage AutoCAD infrastructure and design tool procedures, including assessing software and tools and driving continual improvement.
  • Train new starters in MIPAC's AutoCAD and design tool procedures and conduct regular audits.
  • Collaborate with drafters, designers, and Engineers to ensure timely project completion that meets expectations.
  • Ensure consistency and compliance with design standards across the organization and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Maintain the organization's AutoCAD standards and library and implement client CAD standards.
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or recognised equivalent) with relevant industry experience, or a relevant electrical trade background.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical/Instrumentation/Control Detail Draftsperson.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD (Advanced to Expert level) and/or MicroStation.
  • Proficiency in design tools like AVEVA Instrumentation and Eplan.
  • Experience in 3D modelling software.
  • Strong oral communication skills for effective team interaction.
  • High level of computer literacy and excellent mathematical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and ideally an understanding of ISO 9001 principles.
  • Previous experience overseeing and reviewing design work.
  • Focused and ability to prioritise workload to ensure efficient project delivery.
