
Heavy Vehicle Systems Specialist

The role of a Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Manager involves overseeing the maintenance and development of accreditation systems for heavy vehicles. This includes ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, monitoring and improving processes to support accreditation elements, and facilitating internal and external audits.
The manager will provide expert advice on subject matter related to heavy vehicle accreditation, including the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) and Western Australia Heavy Vehicle Accreditation (WAHVA). They will guide stakeholders in achieving common objectives and maintain supporting systems to ensure ongoing accreditation.
Responsibilities- Provide expertise in reporting and data analysis, including self-service, incident management, and statistics.
- Maintain and manage heavy vehicle accreditation, including facilitation of regulator audit programs.
- Ensure adherence to heavy vehicle accreditation requirements, specifically fatigue, mass, dimension, loading, fitness for work, and maintenance.
- Manage relationships with other businesses associated with heavy vehicle accreditation.
- Negotiate with road authorities in jurisdictions where the company operates.
- Guide internal stakeholders on NHVAS and WAHVA operations.
- Develop an education package for internal stakeholders on accreditation awareness.
- Stay up-to-date on heavy vehicle accreditation requirements.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in heavy vehicle regulation or operations.
- Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills in high-risk environments.
- Ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks while considering risks and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Identify key issues and implement short-, medium-, and long-term improvement strategies.
- Expertise in guiding and training others in risk management and identification.
