Day Surgery Nurse Position

We are seeking an experienced Day Surgery Nurse to join our team on a permanent part-time basis, 24 hours a week. The successful candidate will have availability on Saturday mornings.

  • Patient admission, screening, and pre-operative preparation are essential skills for this role.
  • The nurse will assist doctors with treatment in the procedure room competently.
  • Providing safe and effective recovery care to patients is crucial, escalating for clinical review as indicated.
  • Patient discharge - assessment of readiness and issue of post-operative instructions and medications are key responsibilities.
  • Safe handling and management of specimens, medications, antibiotics, and blood products are also required.
  • The nurse will assist in the day-to-day activities of the day surgery as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Scrub and scout experience are highly valued in this position.
  • A commitment to customer service and patient care is essential.
  • Registered Nurses or Midwives with AHPRA registration are mandatory.
  • A Working with Children's Check is also required.
  • Experience in various nursing areas such as midwifery, reproductive and female health, and/or infertility are desirable.
