Job Title

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of data governance strategies across our organisation. This is a critical role that will play a key part in shaping our data management practices and ensuring they are aligned with our corporate goals.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in leading data governance initiatives and driving cultural change within complex organisations. They will be responsible for developing and implementing data governance strategies, collaborating with senior leaders and stakeholders to align data governance with our strategic objectives, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data governance strategies to ensure robust, future-focused, and compliant data management practices
  • Lead cultural and operational change to uplift organisational data capability
  • Drive service delivery improvements through meaningful, accurate, and accessible data
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to align data governance with our strategic objectives
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 and the Australian Government Essential Eight Framework

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in data science, information management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Significant experience leading data governance or information management within large, complex organisations
  • Strong business acumen, with experience driving efficiencies and delivering measurable service improvements
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with ability to influence at all levels
  • Proven record of leading cultural change, building high-performance teams, and creating sustainable organisational impact

  • Start and finish times can be adjusted within a 7am–7pm span depending on your preferences and team needs
