Mail Officer Job Description
The role of Mail Sorting Officer is a vital part of our organization's daily operations.
You will work in a Mail & Parcel Processing Centre where you will be responsible for manually sorting mail in preparation for delivery the next day.
Your community relies on you and you'll be working with a friendly team of like-minded people.
Main Responsibilities:
- Mail Processing: Assist with the processing of standard letters, large letters, small parcels, and Express Post articles.
- Manual Handling: Manually handle and sort mail articles that cannot be machine sorted.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload mail from mail bags, trays, containers, and metal cages (Unit Loading Devices).
- Maintaining Equipment: Work across sophisticated processing equipment and lines.
- Operational Support: Operate load shifting equipment such as hand pallet devices and stackers while cooperating with operations staff.
About You:
- Flexibility to work additional hours if required.
- A great memory, excellent attention to detail, and ability to lift up to 16kgs of Mail and Parcels regularly.
- Experience operating manual pallet jacks or stackers is advantageous but not mandatory.
