This is an exciting opportunity to join Boral's Cement Supply Chain and Logistics department as a Driver Trainer/Assessor. Working closely with the Regional Logistics Manager, Vic and Tasmania, you will support the development of Powder Tanker driver theoretical and applied driving and operational skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering training activities that promote Powder Tanker driver theoretical and applied driving and operational skills. You will work directly with drivers, operational staff, and management to determine training needs, with the ultimate goal of developing and maintaining a skilled and competent workforce within the business.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting certificate level on and off the job technical and knowledge-based training and assessment to a standard acceptable by the Boral RTO and regulatory requirements
  • Recording training events and uploading evidence to Boral's Learning Management System
  • Developing and issuing Induction, Competency, and VoC wallet cards for workers
  • Facilitating and supporting line managers with training needs and the development of their people
  • Completing administration functions in the sign-up process for employees commencing a certificate-level training program
  • In conjunction with Learners, reviewing the Trainer/Learner responsibilities throughout the training program and providing ongoing monitoring and feedback
  • Assisting in the development, review, and updating of Training Materials, SOPs, and SWMS

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Cert IV Trainer and Assessor (or the completion of the qualification as soon as possible if not already qualified)
  • A valid driver's license (HC minimum)
  • 3+ years relevant industry experience in heavy vehicle training and assessing
  • Experience in operating a variety of heavy vehicles
  • In-depth knowledge of Road Rules and Heavy Vehicle National Law requirements for drivers and Chain of Responsibility
  • Intermediate computer skills
