Greenkeeping is a career that revolves around preparing areas for sports play. These sports include golf, soccer, rugby, cricket and many others.

As a job greenkeeping is a fantastic outdoor opportunity that balances multiple skillsets and offers staff a wide variety of learning opportunities. It is a lifestyle type role with early starts each day, and an early finish (most afternoons you are finished by 2pm).

The wide range of sports surfaces worldwide allows qualified greenkeepers to travel the world and potentially work at some of the biggest sports events across the globe.

Standard skills taught in a greenkeeping apprenticeship include:

  • Mowing and other maintenance of high-quality turf grass
  • Irrigation system installation and maintenance
  • Drainage installation
  • Horticulture and native bushland management
  • Formal garden maintenance

  • Large scale earthwork projects
