About Duxton Bees Apiculture Operation

Duxton Bees is a leading farmgate beekeeping company aiming to become the largest beekeeper in the Southern Hemisphere.

The Company has four major revenue streams: honey and beeswax production, pollination services, and Queen bee breeding.

Our apiculture operation requires highly skilled professionals to ensure the success and growth of our business.

We are currently seeking a talented Beekeeper (Queen Rearer) to join our team.

Job Description

This role plays a critical part in maintaining high standards of beehives, land management, and beekeeping practices including queen rearing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring Queen health and disease management is a priority.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Ensure Quality Maintenance of Queen and Hive Health
  • Regularly Observe Livestock
  • Implement Disease Control Measures
  • Maintain Documentation for Auditing Trails
  • Develop and Implement Processes and Procedures
  • Manage Time Effectively
  • Report and Reorder Tools as Needed
  • Drive Continuous Improvement

The ideal candidate will have experience in apiarist and queen rearing, with excellent communication skills and a strong ability to work independently.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in a relevant field
  • At least 3 years' experience in apiarist and queen rearing
  • Full driver's licence required
  • HC license and forklift license preferable
  • Ability to work as a team and independently when required
  • Must be physically fit, and with no known allergies to bees/bee stings
  • Experience in the agricultural or horticultural industries would be looked upon favourably
