Highway Design Expert

About the Job:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Highway Design Expert. As a key member of our infrastructure projects, you will be responsible for leading road design projects, collaborating with other design disciplines, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate road design components of projects within agreed budgets and deadlines.
  • Identify and resolve technical road design issues through effective communication and collaboration with the team.
  • Lead a road design project team, providing coaching and development opportunities for team members.
  • Determine resource requirements for project plans, including elements suitable for outsourcing.
  • Produce accurate, clear, and concise project documents that meet best practice and quality standards.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with project managers, team leaders, and clients to ensure effective project coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with Arcadis design standards and national design standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • A degree or qualification in Civil Engineering or relevant field.
  • Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads software.
  • Significant experience in project delivery environments, with participation in major road infrastructure projects particularly roads and highways design.
  • Familiarity with Austroads Guide to Road Design, local authority CADD standards, and deliverables (e.g., TfNSW, VICRoads, QLD TMR).
