Senior Front-end Engineer Position

Cognizant is seeking a seasoned front-end engineer to join our software engineering team. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, performant, and secure front-end applications.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into elegant, user-friendly solutions. You will also be expected to drive the adoption of scalable front-end architecture patterns and reusable component libraries.

Additionally, you will optimize applications for maximum speed, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility, as well as mentor and guide junior engineers. Participation in system design discussions and influence technical direction and tooling choices is also required.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 8+ years of professional experience in front-end development
  • 4+ years of experience in React, Redux, and Redux Saga
  • 8+ years of experience with NodeJS
  • 2+ years of experience running A/B and multivariate tests with Optimizely
  • Strong proficiency working with virtualization libraries such as react-window to render large data sets
  • Strong proficiency with TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Solid experience writing maintainable unit tests and working with testing frameworks
  • Proven experience migrating front-end applications from legacy stacks to modern frameworks
  • Background in working on large-scale front-end architectures, ideally in complex domains such as banking or fintech
  • Strong understanding of web accessibility and best practices for inclusive design
  • Experience diagnosing and fixing front-end performance issues in production environments
