About the Role:

The City of Fremantle is seeking a highly skilled Governance and Risk Officer to join our Governance Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing oversight and guidance to ensure that our strategies, decisions, and planning meet our internal, statutory, and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide risk management and governance expertise to support business leaders in identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Implement and monitor the Risk Management Framework to ensure its effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Support business leaders through risk assessments and reviews to ensure that risks are properly identified and managed.
  • Prepare reports and audit documentation to ensure that our risk management practices are transparent and accountable.
  • Deliver governance and risk projects as required to support the achievement of our strategic objectives.

About You:

We are looking for someone who is passionate about risk management and governance, and has a strong track record of delivering high-quality results in a similar role. You will have:

  • Qualifications in risk or business management, such as a degree in risk management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Substantial contemporary experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of risk management principles and practices.
  • Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify trends and patterns.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
