
Family Development Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Family Support Practitioner to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of families and children.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of family dynamics, trauma-informed practices, and the importance of early intervention. They will be able to provide professional support to families with complex needs, identify their strengths and weaknesses, and work collaboratively with them to develop a personalized support plan.
This is a unique opportunity to work with a variety of families, including those from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of these communities and be able to work effectively with them.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of families and children. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, providing case management support, conducting home visits, and building relationships with community members.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree or diploma in social work, health, or a related field. You will also need to have significant experience in case management, working alongside families using partnership, strengths-based, and family-centred approaches.
You will be required to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and families, as well as your ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:- Provide professional support to families with complex needs
- Identify the needs of families and work collaboratively to support them
- Build family capacity in a family partnership service model
- Provide evidence-based, trauma-informed parenting information and education material
- Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Health or allied areas (or significant relevant experience)
- Demonstrated experience in case management, working alongside families using partnership, strengths-based and family-centred approaches
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and families
- Understanding of the importance of the "early years" and the impact of trauma on child development
