We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Safety Strategist to join our team in Townsville, Australia. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive safety programs and policies that align with our organisational values.
Job DescriptionThe Senior Safety Strategist will lead the strategic direction of occupational health and safety initiatives, ensuring alignment with operational goals and legislative requirements. You will oversee a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to enhancing safety performance, driving cultural transformation, and managing compliance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:- Cultivate a safety-first culture aligned with organisational values.
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and policies.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
- Manage Workers Compensation and Injury Management.
- Oversee safety performance metrics, audits, and emergency response procedures.
- Lead resource planning and manage safety budgets effectively.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field.
- Experience in a senior management role within agribusiness, logistics, or manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety Act, Workers Compensation Act, and associated regulations.
- Proven ability to lead cultural transformation and manage organisational change.
- A Queensland 'C' Class driver's licence.
- Qualifications in Risk Management would be an advantage.
We offer a competitive salary package, including:
- A salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum.
- A supportive and collaborative work environment.
