Purchasing Strategist

Operational buyers play a crucial role in the supply chain of leading food and beverage companies. They are responsible for creating an optimized replenishment plan for raw and packaging materials to ensure timely supply to production while meeting working capital targets.

This is a site-based role working Monday to Friday, reporting directly to the factory supply chain manager. Your main purpose will be to:

• Ensure the timely supply of Raw & Pack Materials to meet Production requirements.
• Monitor supply signals through MRP purchase requisitions, ensuring delivery dates, lead times, and required quantities are accurate and create purchase orders that meet supplier expectations.
• Manage defined suppliers to deliver materials efficiently, including creating, sending, confirming, receiving, investigating errors and discrepancies on blocked or parked invoice lines, and handling exceptions.
• Work with purchasing teams to approve new supply lines, managing material specifications, and workflow to meet best practice standards.
• Evaluate and implement purchasing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant internal controls.
• Develop and maintain OMS documents, reviewing changes and implementing updates promptly.

You will have the following skills and qualifications:

• Minimum 2+ years of operations experience in a similar role, preferably within the FMCG industry.
• Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, Marketing, IT, or a related field is preferred.
• Advanced SAP systems experience is highly desirable.
• Solution-focused and proactive attitude with high attention to detail.
• Clear and effective communication skills are essential.
• Experience in stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
• The right person must be proactive, thorough, and detailed with a high level of relationship building.
