About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer and Project Engineer to join our team at Transgrid. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for managing the project engineering function and providing support to Project Managers in delivering large-scale projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering management, with experience in the construction of substation or transmission line assets. You will be a self-motivated individual with excellent communication and report writing skills, and the ability to work well autonomously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the project engineering function within the project delivery team
  • Provide support to Project Managers in delivering large-scale projects
  • Undertake detailed engineering management and coordination
  • Manage technical, procurement, material, construction, design coordination and start-up and close out items
  • Provide support as necessary to the Project Manager to deliver the project

Requirements

  • Degree qualification in a relevant discipline or substantial industry experience in the delivery of large-scale projects
  • High level of technical knowledge in the construction of substation or transmission line assets
  • Proven ability to work well autonomously
  • High standard of communication and report writing skills, personal integrity and professionalism
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards and Government policy guidelines, which govern safety, engineering design, environmental assessment for the implementation of engineering projects
  • Experience in the management of construction contracts
  • Experience in team management, resource management and leadership roles
  • A current Drivers Licence
