We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Visy's Pulp and Paper mill in Tumut. As a Mechanical Engineer - Power Utilities Specialist, you will play a critical role in driving the implementation of engineering best practices to increase overall plant efficiency.
Your strong analytical skills, high level of initiative, and ability to work autonomously will be essential in this fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for developing proactive and preventative maintenance initiatives, executing design and maintenance of mechanical equipment, and ensuring compliance with statutory inspections.
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical) and minimum 5 years' experience in a 24/7 heavy manufacturing or processing environment. Experience in turbine and compressor maintenance and/or pulp mill power utilities is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement engineering best practices to improve plant efficiency.
- Design, execute, and maintain mechanical equipment, facilities, and components.
- Ensure compliance with statutory inspections and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate failures using Root Cause Analysis techniques and implement corrective and preventive solutions.
