Job Overview

The Casual Roof Repair Technician is a vital role in our organization, responsible for conducting thorough roof inspections to identify leaks, damaged areas or failing components. This position requires an individual with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular roof inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Perform general roof repairs, including sealing roof fixings and joints, to prevent water damage and extend the lifespan of the roof.
  • Replace and seal commercial gutters and downpipes as required to maintain proper water flow and prevent flooding.
  • Use appropriate sealants, tools, and safety equipment to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations and company procedures to minimize risks and hazards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety guidelines to prevent accidents.
  • Report progress and any issues to the site supervisor or manager to facilitate effective communication and resolution.

Requirements:

  • Comfortable working at heights and on various roof types, including complex and challenging environments.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively, following manufacturer instructions and best practices.
  • Good knowledge of roofing materials, sealants, and waterproofing techniques to ensure high-quality repairs and maintenance.
  • Reliable transport and basic PPE (e.g., steel cap boots, high-vis clothing) to facilitate safe and efficient travel to job sites.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team, communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • EWP ticket to enable working at heights and using elevated work platforms safely.
  • Experience with metal roofing and rainwater goods to enhance skills and adaptability.
