Cyber Security Operations Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Cyber Security professional to lead our frontline cyber defence and oversee the organisation's security operations.

This is a critical position within our Technology team, driving innovation in AI for Workers Compensation.

  • Lead a high-performing security operations team, responding to threats in real-time, and play a critical role in protecting our systems, data, and reputation.
  • Oversee real-time monitoring, analysis, and incident response using tools like SIEM and EDR.
  • Manage the vulnerability program, including scanning, risk assessment, and remediation tracking.
  • Partner with DevOps and Infrastructure to embed secure configurations and uplift hardening standards.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to boost threat response and operational efficiency.

About You

We are looking for a proactive, calm leader who builds trust and communicates clearly under pressure. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber security operations, preferably in a regulated or financial services environment.
  • Strong hands-on skills with security tools (SIEM, EDR, firewalls, vulnerability management platforms).
  • Solid understanding of cloud security, Zero Trust principles, and modern cyber defence strategies.
  • Confident handling threat investigations, phishing, malware, and incident triage.
  • Experience with scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell) to improve workflows.
