About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Child & Youth Hope team as a Wellbeing (Psychosocial) Worker.

The successful candidate will provide children, young people and their support networks with practical recovery-based assistance, alongside clinicians, Youth and Family Peer Workers.

The goals of this role are consumer-led and aim to assist understanding and beginning to address the factors leading to the suicidal experience. This may include referrals for ongoing mental health supports, linkages with community services, advocacy, supporting connectedness with the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide psychosocial support to children and young people experiencing suicidal behaviour or at risk of serious self-harm.
  • Work collaboratively with clinicians, Youth and Family Peer Workers to develop and implement care plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community services and providers to support transitions and pathways out of the service.
  • Participate in regular professional supervision and peer support to ensure best practice and quality care.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Mental Health, Welfare Work, Youth Work or Community Work.
  • At least one year's experience working with children, young people, families/carers and support networks in a community setting.
  • Valid Victorian Working with Children Check and willingness to undergo a background check.
  • Australian working rights.
