Project Engineer I

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer I to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects from conception to commissioning and close-out.

The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, including knowledge of power system design, studies, and information technology. They will also possess strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze technical specifications and create detailed physical and electrical designs, bill of materials, and job estimates.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including schedules and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Perform site acceptance testing and train customers on the operation of devices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • 2+ years of relevant application experience with electric power systems, industry practices, and focus area practices and philosophies.
  • Strong knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration and/or automation and communications applications.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 80% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineer in Training certificate.
  • Experience in project engineering, industrial plant, consulting engineering, or system integrator.
  • Working knowledge of Vision or other project management tracking software.

Focal Areas:

  • Automation - Software, Integration and Automation, Industrial Controls, PLCs, Industry Protocols (IEC-61850, DNP, Modbus), Ethernet Systems, Protocol Analyzers, and Industry SCADA Practices.
  • Civil - Civil Design and Engineering Theory, Principles, and Applications; Structural Design and Constructability of Electrical Power Substations.
  • Commissioning - Perform Commissioning and Site Acceptance Testing in the Field.
  • Design - Analyze Technical Specifications; Create Detailed Physical and Electrical Designs.
  • Networking - Industrial Control System Networking Experience.
  • Project Management - Full Life-Cycle Project Management of Multiple Large Multi-Discipline Projects.
  • Security - Industrial Control System Security Experience.
  • Studies - Demonstrated Experience Using PSSE, ETAP, and/or RTDS.
