Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate projects with heritage staff and clients, ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality expert advice on heritage and native title issues.
- Participate in and assist the Manager in providing training for cultural heritage staff, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Liaise with clients to deliver expert advice on a range of heritage and native title issues, fostering strong relationships and trust.
- Assist in preparing proposals and follow-up for projects related to cultural heritage, effectively communicating with potential clients and stakeholders.
- Lead and coordinate fieldwork for duty of care assessments and larger projects, ensuring compliance with business and client workplace health and safety systems.
- Liaise, coordinate, and negotiate with Traditional Owner groups as needed, respecting their rights and interests.
- Maintain professional standing by updating personal training and accreditations associated with the job description, staying up-to-date with industry developments.
- Comply with business and client workplace health and safety systems, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Maintain and use vehicle and equipment in accordance with business policies and procedures, promoting responsible resource management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Formal degree studies in archaeology/anthropology or equivalent with Honours, demonstrating a strong foundation in the field.
- 5 to 10 years of industry experience, showcasing expertise and knowledge in cultural heritage management.
- Practical understanding of relevant state and commonwealth legislation as it pertains to cultural heritage permits and licensing, ensuring compliance and best practices.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in the recording of heritage places through various techniques and technologies, promoting accurate documentation.
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of GIS software, including QGIS and/or ArcGIS, facilitating effective data analysis and visualization.
- First aid certificate, demonstrating a commitment to workplace safety and well-being.
- Ability to read and interpret project scopes of work, assist in proposal formations, and submissions to clients, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Experience in conducting cultural heritage investigations, applying knowledge and skills to real-world scenarios.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate a small project team in a service delivery environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with team members and clients.
- Experience in giving practical and compliant advice to clients, ensuring expert guidance and support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitating clear and effective communication.
- Organized and able to meet deadlines, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, enhancing productivity and efficiency.
- Class C Drivers License, ensuring safe and responsible transportation.
- Physically and mentally fit and capable of extensive fieldwork as required, with no limitations.
